TheWatchDesk.Com
The concept that underlies the operations of TheWatchDesk.Com had their start in late 2000 when International Association of Firefighter's Local 1619 attacked members of surrounding locals for volunteering in Prince George's County Volunteer Fire Stations. The first board was a primitive forum posted on the Allentown Road Volunteer Fire Department's Website. This board quickly became controversial and moved into private ownership with better software, it was then that Phantom registered the name "TheWatchDesk.com" and with the help of Zorro established the site.
Controversy breed success, and as luck would have it Ronnie Few provided plenty of fodder for the 1st year of the forum's existence. By user request, forums [1] were added for each state and many counties or locales within each state. In 2008 and entering its eight year the website is in one of the busiest 200,000 websites on the internet and has 30,692 threads, 385,259 posts, and 19,640 members.
Mission of TheWatchDesk.Com
In the fire department the watch desk is traditionally a symbol of vigilance. This site will act as the watchman, alerting firemen to pertinent and not so pertinent information.
