What is the best, most cost efficient way to do fire station alerting. This is strictly for the stations themself and nothing else (volunteers, on call, etc.) I know there are some very sophisticated systems out there but have no idea what the price tag is. Thanks.

Yes, in house. Hopefully something that links directly to the CAD and allows for pre-alerting and so on.

In my volly house a guy out of bladensburg, md (I believe a volly at bladensburg) did ours. It is pretty intense. There is a speaker in each room, including our live-in area that beeps REALLY loud and goes to full volume for 3 minutes after dispatch. There is also a seperate alarm speaker in the hallway and the engine bay that goes off. It makes a sound kind of like the "yelp" on a siren. We also have the classic house siren outside that sounds for approximately 1 minute. We have been told that this system will wake the dead or literally scare the hell out of you.
We dont have our CAD system up and running yet but as soon as it is the system is set up to where it is "suppose" to automatically send the CAD info to a printer in either the watch room or the engine bay with all the call info. I really couldnt tell you what the price tag is on the system. My guess would be roughly $2000. Not really sure that is just a guess.
Hope this helps. Go to our website and try to contact the president he should be able to tell you more. www.shepherdstownfiredepartment.com
