all involved hope are ok ?.. question how did this compare to the one in OHIO earlier this yr... does any one have media link for 'overkill' lite reading ?...they always blow things out of proportion....let the investigation do its work....pray for those involved..and move on..

Hope the guys involved are healing well and not too sore! Saw it on the news Sat. morning, and first thing out of my mouth was OH SH**, I hope they are ok! Glad to hear when the reporter spoke to one of them that they were ok!

Everybody is doing ok concidering what could of happened. Deputy Chief had surgery on his foot and is resting at home. I want to thank all the brothers and sisters in our service for their concern and support. It's over whelming and words cant express the appreciation. Many thanks to the members of Canterbury VFD who provided transportation and an extrication that was truely amazing and professional. Thanks to Hampton-Chaplin ambulance corps that provided transportation that was also of professional status. Our insurance representative (VFIS) was at the station next day and helped us immensely with what direction and actions were to be initiated.
One reads the trade magazines, wedsites and articles of horrific crashes involving apparatus and thinks it wont happen to me. I was one of those too. I can certify that it certainly can.

Out of this I hope for others to use this incident as an educational tool to help prevent an accident from happening to them.

The truck is totaled and will be going to a New britain salvage yard.
