Why is it that were back to running non-life threating calls at Nursing homes and shelters? They only reason for PEC units and fire trucks should be for life threatning emergencies Cardiac arrest, respitory arrest and GSW type calls, other than that these facilities should have contracts with private ambulances services this is why our system is over taxed! Just imagine how many calls E-10's stats would go down for a year!!!!! And all the other PEC units. We did this once before and it was a welcome relief for the companies getting a beat down, but it seem like were running them more and more everyday.

News flash: not all of the "ALS" calls are life-threatening. Put another way, not all of the "non-life threatening" calls are BLS.

There's a whole category here - the "CHARLIE" call - is ALS Cold per the MPDS Site (http://www.prioritysolutionsinc.com/psiam_software/clinical_features.html).

Hence, if all, most, or much of our ALS is attached to an engine company, we'll be sending engine companies to those calls regardless of where they occur.

Yet one more weakness of the "All the ALS on the Fire Companies" system.

What they are talking about does apply to firefighting as well as EMS, they have every right to place this thread right here where it is.

Have a great day.......................:D
