What can give a CO monitor a false reading? Just came back from a call for an inside gas leak, found nothing but did a CO reading...250ppm. There was no natural gas units in the store. The monitors would jump up when we entered the cold areas. Can the cold temperature give a false reading?

During ventilation of the store the manager showed up and stated that the floors were cleaned that day. I can't think of any floor cleaning/polishing chemicals that can give a false CO reading...any help???

Have the unit checked and re-calibrated. It could be a bad CO sensor. We have MSA Orions and we get bad sensors everyonce in a while. Most meter mfgs. recommend calibrating once a month, also to help prolong the life of the sensors, turn it on AWAY from the rigs, if you can smell the exhaust, your too close, turn it off the the same "clean air" environment.

This is an annoying situation. I have recently found out that my boss has advertised my position online without letting me know. I have also just found out that she has asked my co-worker to monitor me and to let her know every little thing I do wrong so they have a reason to get rid of me. I am a hard worker. The only problem I can see is that I am a mother and I work part time, and I think they want someone cheaper, on a full-time basis. Everyone makes mistakes and I feel like im walking on egg shells. Can someone let me know if this is legal? From what Ive read, they can only monitor you if they let you know it is happening. Is this correct? Has anyone else gone through this! Help... there is nothing worse than undue stress at work! Home life is stressful enough as it is!
