One word: cronyism, and it's been going on a whole hell of a lot longer than I've been on the job... It ain't who or what you know, it's who you blow!

If I'm not mistaken anyone can take a year of unpaid leave. It's not illegal.

Well, he really isn't getting an "extra" 600k.

You don't just get LWOP by applying for it. You have to apply for it AND it has to be approved. If it ain't approved, you ain't gettin' it!

Well the plot thickens. It looks like old dennis rubin was out doing his lemon’s to lemonade, or whatever self promoting tour, lying brian was living up the murphy’s law standard of promotions.

It looks like he signed off on Ellerbe, while a good deal for Ellerbe, it basically shows who really running the show in DCFD. It’s not the Rube, but the 3 stooges at the AFC level.

I wonder if the rube going to cut a new youtube segment, and tell everyone he will “again” take responsibility for the actions of his office.

Well all one can say it not really 3 stooges, but really 4 stooges, with no one in command holding someone, somewhere responsible for something, but god help you if the AFC-Op’s dislikes you, he will certainly make you and/or hold you responsible for something, anything, and if he's lucky, make you look for a new job.

This too will go down for fenty getting the best people for the right jobs, stay tune for the next segment off the 4 stooges show.

A copy of Dave Statter article is below;

A spokesman for the District of Columbia Department of Human Resources confirms there is a signed agreement between the city and Sarasota County about the employment of the Florida community’s new fire chief. Andrew Gerst tells STATter911.com that a form titled “Personnel Exchange Agreement” is on file in connection with DC Deputy Chief Kenneth Ellerbe who has been Sarasota County’s fire chief since August
DC Fire & EMS Department spokesman Pete Piringer previously confirmed that Ellerbe, employed by the department since 1982, is on leave without pay. The arrangement could allow Ellerbe to remain employed through his 50th birthday in April, in turn enhancing his retirement benefits.
On Tuesday, DC City Council Public Safety and Judiciary Chairman Phil Mendelson said the arrangement “smacks of favoritism” and sends the wrong message to the rank and file who are not allowed these special perks.
While Gerst would not provide details on who signed the form for the DC government, numerous sources familiar with the document tell STATter911.com that it has the signatures of Assistant Fire Chief Brian Lee and Director of Human Resources Brender Gregory.
Chief Ellerbe’s boss in Sarasota County, Emergency Services Director Mike Suarez, confirms he signed a District of Columbia government document at the time of Chief Ellerbe’s employment. In a telephone conversation, Suarez could not recall exactly what document he signed but said it sounds very similar to the description of the “Personnel Exchange Agreement”.
A copy of a blank “Personnel Exchange Agreement” provided to STATter911.com indicates it would allow Ellerbe to return to his post as deputy fire chief in DC, or “a position of like seniority, status and pay” at “the completion of the assignment”.

I not sure of this, but I heard that Chief Sa’adah is now the head training director for the Training Academy. Chief Shultz has taken over the operations portion of EMS.

The main question is how is this going to work. Chief Sa’adah is an AFC, doesn’t the DCOP and DCFD Order Book have a provision on who is in charge of what and when. Chief Sa’adah is now the senior ranking officer at the Training Academy. By these rules he is now the person in charge of that division? What DFC Jones new job classification? Better question what did he do to be put in this position. Chief Sa’adah could not handle being in charge of EMS, now this?

And AFC Chief Shultz has taken over the operations portion of EMS. As I understand it EMS is part of the service division, not operations, and if I remember the last job announcement for EMS head, you had to be a paramedic. Last look at AFC Chief Shultz credentials , he was lacking this as well as others.

The 4 Stooges still at work, all is well at DCFire&EMS Dept.

Ok, now let me get this straight, AFC Shultz has now put on his superman outfit, and is commanding the following, Operations division, EMS division, and now Internal Affairs.

Wow! He’s doing the work of three division heads.

All I can say is watch out Rube, he gunning for your job, where else except the DCFMS and the FBI can one gain so much power over so many. By the way has anyone checked his closet, Hoover wore red dresses, what colors does he have.

But now it looks like Shultz can just about take any incident, and transform it to just about anything.

How about this screen play, an incident goes down, lets say another big fire, some lose of life, Rubes out of town doing his Rube fan club tour, Shultz now play he the big guy who save DC since the present Fire Chief was out of town doing personal business by promoting his new lecture tour. Since he is now in charge of internal affairs, Hookman’s research is used, and Chief Rubin is now accused of DPM violations. He’s fired, Schultz being the second coming of Hoover, is now a A/FC, and then can play the game of becoming a fire chief in DCFEMS. He did not place all of his boys in Chief and some union positions for nothing.

All I can say is I wish I had a crystal ball, I starting to wonder how long the rubes going to last, and what politics are going to occur at Grimke’s top floor.

Statter should have pushed Pete out of the way! How funny would it have been to knock on the window of the buggy? Excuse me Cheif could you answer a question for me as to how you are changing your story yet again?
