Before I retired, one of our girls came back to work after maternity leave, she would use her pump 2 times a shift, about 15 - 20 mins to do it. BUT, if a call came in, she did her job, and finished when she came back. Special services placed a lock box in the fridge for her to lock her milk in. It was never an issue for anyone in the house, she continued to do her job WELL and it never interfered with her performance. Seems like a few people think that she will not be able to do her job because she is lactating. As to never being married, I am married and my wife breast fed both our kids, and if a woman wants to breast feed, it it her right, and the job should not be an issue. DCFD is at least trying to take steps to be accommodating.

EMS is not the problem, the problem is people like you who do not want to accept change. I admit some of the changes are not good at all, but some are okay. I for one have no problem at all with women taking care of their motherly duties, afterall it does need to be done.

Now for your own information when I am on an EMS unit I carry my own patients, help with the housework and my leave gets charged just as yours does. As I said before it is people like you that are screwing up the department.

I think you should change your name to EEO's R Us, I think it fits. I have had many women in my command and have treated them all as equals. As many of you feel, if you cannot do the job, you do not need to be here. But unlike many of you I know how to stay out of trouble by doing what is right. Just as I give the men in my command there time to use the bathroom, rest when they are ill and so on.

Any chance you read the pdf? Correct me if I am wrong, but I read that company officers are responsible to make sure that the mothers aren't interrupted (delayed response...ect)
