Railroad lost three cars carrying ethanol . No haz mat, no fire, no injury . Nearest home 1/4 mile if not more . Fire department from windham and many other towns are on scene . The R&R TOLD the fd that fd services were not needed but the fire department has been there for two day's

Its not the railroads responsibility to tell the FD when they are needed or not needed.
Its the Fire Departments responsibility to take command and control of the situtation and if the FD determines they are not needed then they should turn the scene over to a responsible party. Not vice -a- versa.

No hazs no fire no injury. No need for FIRE department . If nothing is happening what are you doing. You can't take care of a promblem if there is no promblem. Just because there are rail cars off the track doesn't mean you have a issue. It's like haveing a car stuck on the side of the road is it a crash.Don't invite yourself to a promblem

Sounds to me that you got your panties in a bunch because your Chief wouldn't let the Juniors go on the Call.
Its my understanding that there were train cars on their side, containing ethanol.
Might I suggest that when you reach 18 you take the FF 1 course so that you don't sound like a dildoe on a message board that is supposed to be for firefighters.

Call me a dildo. Game on.Your the blue light whacker that's running up and down the road thinking your going save the god damn world. Well buddy wrong FF1 teaches you how to read a book. Just what I want to do sit around for hours and think I might be called a hero in the local paper.

I'm sorry for calling you a dildoe, you shit bag. Firefighters aren't allowed to have blue lights in my State. Now go back to playing with your little choo choo.

Here is why the railroad told the fd was not needed, when a r.r is involved in a accident, even a minor one, they have to notify the FRA, OSHA, and the NTSB. If it was not reported to the fd, and the call was never dispatched, then they dont have to notify any of them, but since the fd,was notified, the r.r, now has alot of bs to deal with those agencies.

Ethanol is a hazmat. If the cars were on their side or leaking, fd should be on scene.

OK, they waited 2 days of FF's being there day and night overseeing the transfer and then tell them, OH we don't need you! NICE! Gotta love it!

It's not an incident until the bad stuff gets out of it's container. Vessels just laying on their side doesn't necessarily constitute a hazard. If it did then the Haz Mat team couln't roll 55 gallon drums off off wrecked trucks and a tank car is just a bigger container. But I do believe someone whho is trained and has the public safety in mind should make the determination on whether there is a potential hazard. Because we know the railroads only concern is public relations and cost.
BTW Dumbstruck I love your apology.
