Hey Upper Management!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please fix our computer network!!!!!! We can not get run numbers and times, do reports on Sunpro, fill out forms and do special reports. If this were a private business or corporation we'd be out of business by now!!!! I guess we'll just have to go back to using typewriers, onion skins and carbon paper! Oh wait, I forgot. We threw all our typewriters away!!!!

Oh, and by the way, the CAD system and CAD Sign Boards/printers don't work either!!!!!!!!

Its only gonna get worse. Now with this new guy running the "Unified Communications Division" Your gonna hear E-19 Proceed to tow the illegally parked car at 14'th and V SE". Im gonna have to call em again and tell em that E-15's in Quarters. They ain't gotta clue!! :D

Why do you think Sun Pro is going out of business, many Dept's that have it are dropping it and going to a more user friendly and better software. It's vay over priced and poorly supported

The main problem is OCTO, they are all subcontractors, and they do not play well with each other. Example, 2 tech's came in to upgrade the computer program the sign board uses, could not get access to the system due to the new 3com switchs that were installed. Called MIS MS Cooper about the problem, received the standard reply, I call you back in 10 min. 3 hours later she called back, problem the sign board tech's left 2 hours ago. Well at least she did call back.

The dept needs to assign a BFC to guide MIS, OCTO and the "upgrades" then they might understand the problems out in the field :D

The main problem is some of the people in MIS think the fire department is here to support them, not the opposite. Regs1 are you interested in that BFC spot?

Big Bill retired because Martin told him it was not his turn to be promoted, the other Big team mate [Hj] just went back to the firefighting division when he was passed over for the 17th time, He just felt there was no future there.

House speakers turn off for hours at a time in the middle of the day, no sign board (anymore), no way to get times, no way to see CAD viewer anymore, no printer( for runs or for forms ), intermittant "woo woo", and tons more. I am not just bitching. All of these things have been "upgraded" or improved.....just gimme back the vocal only and a printer, while your at it how about dropping off some forms. Also get rid of the "automatic" speaker nonsense that just never works reliably. No more "woowoo" please. Oh and gimme my old master switch back on the speakers.

In defense of AFC Martin, he was just passing along info from the big office. Chief Martin suggested my name when asked for possible BFC promotions.

Just want to make sure there are no misunderstandings.

Thats what Im talking about... Gimme my Master Switch back!!... hey remember when the computers put out the calls "Realtime"??... I say lets get rid of that Netviewer and go back to the way calls were dispatched on the old CAD system, it was a lot better... hell you have to keep refreshing the screen just to see the calls... and that Screenboard, its nice when it works ... Ive seen it work about twice since we've had it :confused:, sure is pretty to look at though... :eek: .. Just my 2 cents.

Im with the rest of you. I sent a report in aout the "ALL CALL " button not working, and what do I get?? :confused: A phone call from the idiot running the Radio Shop trying to tell me I'm wrong, the speakers are only supposed to come on when the tone goes off. Well puleeese how about putting a FIREMAN in charge that knows what we need communications wise to get our job done. This guy calls everyonce in awhile to see if the ALL CALL button has been fixed yet. You think he would know. But he's clueless. I guess he just wants to walk around in his FD Uniform and try to impress someone. He dam sure ain't impressing me.
Granted there are some dedicated employees at the Radio Shop that go out of their way to keep the Portables operating for us, going so far as to fix stuff on their way home. But the guy running the show needs to go. I think he's just there to collect a pay check and thats it while he blows smoke up everyone else's ..... :eek:
Please give me my MASTER SWITHCH BACK and put a FIREMAN in CHARGE.
