The Eaton Fire Protection District is dedicated to providing professional emergency services, fire prevention, community involvement, public safety and education to ensure the preservation of life and property.
Our service includes fire suppression, prevention, public education, emergency medical first response rescue, and automobile extrication.
The Town of Eaton is located six miles north of Greeley, Colorado along Highway 85. The Eaton Fire Protection District serves sixty four square miles with an approximate population of 6,000 and growing. The district is divided east and west by the Union Pacific Railroad carrying agricultural, industrial, military, and other hazardous materials. Other high hazard locations include an agricultural airport for crop management, Weld County Airport, two high pressure gas storage plants, a large petroleum warehouse and agricultural warehousing of fertilizers and pesticides.
The Eaton Fire Protection District serves the communities of Eaton, Lucerne and unincorporated Weld County. Our department is a combination department that currently employs two full time, twelve part time and twenty-nine volunteer firefighters. The town of Eaton is a fast growing community with a call volume that has increased by 50% in the last 6 years.
The selection process includes a pre-screening assignments, resume review, oral board interviews and assessment center. The pre-screening will select the top six candidates that will be invited to Eaton to participate in the testing/assessment process. The final candidate will be offered the position pending the successful completion of a physical examination, criminal and driving background check and drug testing.
The completed application along with a current resume and copies of appropriate Fire Officer and EMT certification is due no later than 5:00 PM on July 16, 2004. Please send by certified mail or hand deliver at Eaton Fire Station #1, 50 South Maple Avenue, Eaton CO 80615.
