View Full Version : Telestaff is it working as prescribe?
I recently heard of members who placed themselves for overtime and didnt receive a notification, therefore rendering them AWOL. This has happen numerous of times and as recent as a couple of days ago to an officer. Not saying that telestaff is totally flawed, but it's apparent that there are some kinks in the operation. After you check telestaff per the order and your not slated at that time, when a spot comes available your suppose to be notified. I think we should go back to the aides calling members as a courtesy to back up telestaff as a remeinder. What do you think?

There are 2 ways for telestaff to notify, the person doing the staffing should send out a notification. ( It is best to send it via phone and email) If the person doesnt send out a notification the system will automatically send out a notification, but a lot of people need to update thier info in telestaff, ie... new contact number. The other problem is people think if they ignore the notification it will cancel them or replace them and that is not the case.

Telestaff does NOT automatically notify for WDO. And the MEMO does state how the staffing officer is to notify.

I am aware if a couple times where People have not gotten their notification. In every one that I've investigated, the computer has tried 8 times to contact the person, and the contact person either did not answer, had a bad number, or had no contact information.
With the new rules on staffing, it takes a very long time to fill vacancies, and the night tour spots are usually filled well after everyone has left, and often after the aides have gone out on rounds.
Some aides do call the people coming to their battalions. If you're getting relieved for the night tour, it's in your best interest to see that your relief is notified. If there is a green ? or a black icon of any sort to the left of his name on the roster, there is a chance that he has not received notification. Unfortunately, people sometimes slip through.
I am not aware of anyone being charged with AWOL for missing overtime. If they have please PM me.

You also need an aide who is not lazy and willing to work with telestaff.
