Fire Chief - 1st Consolidated Fire District, Caledonia, Ohio

The 1st Consolidated Fire District (Marion County) is seeking a proactive, innovative leader to be their first fulltime Fire Chief. 1st Consolidated is a combination department with six full-time and 20 volunteer members. In addition to fire services, the department also provides fire-based EMS at the Paramedic level.
Qualifications include present fire service employment with 10 years of fire department and five years Command Officer experience. Current firefighter and EMS certifications are required. State Instructor and Inspector certifications are a plus. Combination fire department experience is required and Fire District/Township experience is desirable. A college education, Ohio Fire Academy Development training or Executive Fire Officer program is a plus.
Good communications skills with the Fire Board, department and the public are a must. The new Chief must be a team player and team builder. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate leadership, management control and experience working with both full-time and volunteer personnel.
Salary is commensurate with experience and a competitive fringe benefit package is offered.
