:D I hope that there are some among us who know this term and know about the Otaku Test on the internet? I sometimes think it is the same as fire buffing except it involves Japanese animation.
I have run into a few emergency providers (firefighters/EMS/lawenforcement) at the Anime Cons I attend and work has a volunteer medic during the shows.
I have appeared in my uniform costumes (Japanese ems/rescue uniforms) on the Fansview website.
I would like to hear from those who are involved in the anime, manga, art, model building etc..
Maybe there should be a organization of emergency providers who are Otaku type fan club.

:D Well since I have not seen many interested in putting in a word on if they would call themselves a Otaku maybe some of you know someone who is part of that scene? A friend or family member?
Has anyone seen a series of graphic novels published by Viz call "Firefighter Daigo of Fire Company M", about a young Japanese firefighter and his time of being a firefighter and things he has done to amaze his follow firefighters. It is up to 7 books with number 8 coming soon.
I got into the anime scene a long time ago when the first VHS tapes started show up in stores, then went to a convention near Baltimore then collecting the comics and magazines and later joining a club, which provides a way to see series that have not come out in the US has yet, plus having a group of people to get to know to go to a convention with.
That is how I got involve with being on the medical staff at a convention. They need someone who had EMT training to help to be sure the attendees were safe for a weekend plus any other problems like fire alarms and security problems.
