has anyone already gone or are planing to work fire in country ? looking for input before making my decision

Well i just received the information in the mail and i am looking through a government contractor. I am still wondering if i should apply for it as well. I would like to find out if the firefighters stay on base throughout the time or actually go out to the city. But i have heard that you stay on base throughout the time. I would really like to hear from others before i make my decision.

i am in iraq now with the national guard.. every guy i have talked to and have seen stay on the base. they have no reason to go outside the wire.

I have a friend there right now that is the Assistant Chief for Wackenhut Services. I have turned in all of my paperwork but I am not sure if I really want to go or not.
