No I do not know anyone in Kodiak.

At the time of my posting, yes. It was a horrible fire year up in the Last Frontier. We had approximately 6 million acres burned just this summer. It was exceptionally bad in my area of the state, where we had, I believe, 2+ million of the acres go up. Alaska is normally a horrible area for wilfires, but because of our locallity, we are overlooked by the media in favor of the western area of the continental US. Our fires burned the equivelent of 3+ New England states.

It really did warm things up. The temps reached as high as 105 degrees. Amazing isn't it? I mean here I sit typing this and it is -54. Such a wild jump can send your head spinning!! :)
