I know many a fire company who sold off old apparatus when new units came in or just needed to get rid of one because they had to.
I know my fire company sold off apparatus from the 50s up to the 90s.
These units belong to the Allentown Road Vol. Fire Dept. of Prince George's County MD and have wondered what became of some of them and if some fire dept or member who would remember having bought a pumper or other unit from the ARVFD.
The apparatus would have been painted white with black trim or strips.
1955 GMC American Marsh
1957 GMC American Marsh
1964 Ford C Cab Young (Heading North on I-95 with PA dealer tags after
county auction. Unit was striped of a lot of equipment before auction.)
1967 Ford C Cab Young(Sold by our company to a fire company in TENN
or somewhere else further South.
1967 Ford F500 open cab combo brush and mini squad with rear seating where a hose bed would be. Last know location Ambrose GA. operating has Squad 7.
1970 Mack (Former FDNY pumper) If someone knows something about one of these units lets hear what you know.
Maybe someone else is looking for old apparatus from their department and want to know what became of it.

ASHFIRE,

What happened to the Bison? The Open Cab Young with the Cincinnati Cab...? We recently re-acquired the 1967 Ford/Young Open Cab. It is sitting inside Station 25. This is the twin to the pumper that overturned and killed the two fireman in 1971. We also know the whereabouts of our 194? Brockway Tanker and one of our 195? GMC/Young Pumpers. Check out our Website www.ClintonVFD.org and look on the Old Timers page.

Truckie10,

Vienna Maryland probably still has that Engine.

The county ended up owning the Bison. The cab and body started rusting and the county sent it out to rehab and it came back a completely different unit with a top over the driver and officer and cover over the jump seats.
It ended up moving from station has a reserve.
I am sure the county sold it at auction along with the Maxium sometime back in the 90s.
Has to where it is now is a big question?
