Just saw LADDER 49 and if I had to compare it to BACKDRAFT I would have to say it is a tie. LADDER 49 had didnt have those cliche lines that BACKDRAFT had, but all-in-all I would give ladder 4.5 stars and back 4.0 stars. The only thing I have seen so far that is just like the fire house has been RESCUE ME.
