Pam Brooks Death

Many of you know Pam's husband Bill. He is the service tech for Singer.

STUARTS DRAFT — Pamela Dill "Mimi" Brooks, 45, of Stuarts Draft, walked into Heaven on May 2, 2008 when she passed away at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Pam was born on June 19, 1962 in Staunton, to Norman Franklin and June Carolyn Dill. They will always remember her as the happy, loving, and confident child that she was. On May 19, 1981, she married Mack William "Bill" Brooks Jr. Together they shared a marriage that reflected love for each other and God.

Pam's commitment and devotion to the Lord gave her strength and joy throughout her entire life. Although she suffered from rheumatoid arthritis from the time she was a child, Pam never let the disease interfere with fulfilling the calling that God had for her life. She was an inspiration to those who met her because of her generosity of spirit and her ability to uplift those around her no matter what her health situation may be.

Pam enjoyed painting, drawing, gardening, camping, the beach, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the New Life Foursquare Gospel Church in Staunton where she had served as a devoted youth leader and Sunday school teacher.

Pam was preceded in death by a special nephew, Alston Johns.

She is survived by her beloved husband and parents; her very special in-laws, Mack and Grace Brooks of Stuarts Draft; sister-in-law, Debbie Brooks of Stuarts Draft; a brother, Karel Dill and his wife, Kathy of Edinburg, sisters, Kathy Johns of Pompano Beach, Fla., Kim Mello and her husband, Alex of Staunton, Wendy Denuelle and her husband, Matthieu of Olympia, Wash., Krissy Brown and her husband, Benny of Staunton. One of Pam's greatest joys was her beloved nieces and nephews, Natalie, Claire, Luke, Kyle, Katelyn, Nathaniel, and Katie. They will always remember her for the undivided attention and love that she lavished upon them. Also surviving Pam are her two godchildren, Brandy Bondurant of Radford and Joey Lohrey of Stuarts Draft. Pam was blessed with two special caretakers, her very good friend, Dawn Valentine and her aunt, Mike Cupp.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Mount Vernon Church of the Brethren in Stuarts Draft. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Marty Lohrey, Barry Valentine, Danny Smith, Jeff Deaver, David Deaver, Eddie Deaver, Tracy Carter, and Joey Lohrey. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Stuarts Draft Volunteer Fire Company.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 5, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Stuarts Draft Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 548, Stuarts Draft, Va. or to the Stuarts Draft Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 260, Stuarts Draft, Va. 24477.
